WebMCP Inspector · last updated 2 September 2026

WebMCP Inspector does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.

What the extension does

It reads the WebMCP tool definitions published by the web page you are currently viewing and displays them to you. When you choose to run a tool, it passes the arguments you typed to that page and shows you what the page returns.

What is collected

Nothing. Specifically:

Everything the extension reads stays inside your browser, on the page you are looking at, and is discarded when you close the tab.

Website access

The extension asks for access to websites because it is a development tool: it has to work on whichever site you are testing, and it must be active before that page’s own scripts run in order to see the tools the page publishes. That access is used only to read and display those tool definitions.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address.
